It was standing room only in the Chapel of Surrey North East Crematorium on 28th April as nearly 100 mourners bid farewell to a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, fellow FSB member and good friend Tony Taylor.
Tony died peacefully at home aged 78 years and not only was Tony a FSB member since 1986 but was instrumental in forming our Surrey Hills East Branch where he served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman over many years. In fact, up until last year Tony was reserve branch representative to the Regional Committee. Tony had a reputation for not only being a jovial, entertaining man but never shy to speak out which made him a ‘big voice’ for FSB on behalf of small businesses at the grassroots of the Organisation.
In the early day’s Tony’s wife Pat also served FSB as branch secretary. A nice note from Pat following Tony’s funeral:
“Dear Georgina and Mike,
Thank you so much for your kind support at Tony's funeral and the donation and flowers. Tony would have been pleased to see the support from FSB he always had great regard for you all. It was lovely that some of you could come back to the house and meet the rest of the family. I would be grateful if you could pass on my gratitude to all the others.
Kind regards, Pat”
Thank you Tony for your loyal support over many years!
