Although FSB is, at heart, a lobbying organisation, our members also like to get together for social events, informal networking meetings and business seminars.
This region is well known for its more traditional networking meetings but our nine local branches are also keen to find other ways to get members together so they can enjoy each other’s company and build future business relationships.
Among some of the meetings in recent months were a social media event including a meal organised by our Cheltenham team, a tour of Gloucestershire’s historic city centre put together by our Gloucester branch and also an informative trip set up by our Cotswolds team to one of the region’s biggest and most successful businesses – Renishaw Plc.
Renishaw began as a very small business in Gloucestershire focusing on precision engineering and has now gone on to be a world-leader in technology and engineering employing thousands of people in this country and abroad and providing specialist equipment to some of the best known brands in the world. During the course of an entertaining morning attended by many members from across the region, Renishaw said elements of its technology are now in every single plane or train in the world - and all from a small business that only set up in Gloucestershire in the early 70s.
Events like this are arranged by individual branches and your FSB region, so to find out what events are coming up read our weekly email newsletter Bitesize, follow us on Twitter (@FSBGlosandWoE) or keep an eye on our website at www.fsb.org.uk/119.
And, don't forget, if you would like to be part of one of our branches arranging such events then just drop an email to email@example.com and we can tell you more about how you can get involved in your local FSB.
