The category winners for the East Anglia region of the FSB & Worldpay UK Business Awards 2017 were announced. The awards, now in their fourth year, are open to businesses with fewer than 250 employees, including self-employed people and micro businesses. They recognise and celebrate the most outstanding smaller businesses in the UK, a sector that makes an overwhelming contribution to the UK’s economy and culture.
ARCH Gardening, Letchworth, for the category of community business of the year
Software for People Ltd, Hitchin, for the business and product innovation award
Pam Charman, Hertfordshire branch chairman said: “Well done to all these winners and to all the smaller businesses who contribute so much to Hertfordshire’s characters and economies. We are delighted that this county was able to provide two of the winners in the East Anglia region.”
FSB member Caroline Howells of ARCH Gardening said: “We were thrilled to be recognised for the work we do in the local community, helping schools and other community organisations get the most from their outside space. From growing fruit and veg, to making scarecrows and building gardens, there is so much to learn from horticulture whatever your age or ability.”
Fellow member Keiron Smith of Software for People Ltd said: “We are delighted to have won the Business and Product Innovation Award. We are a small business and understand how time consuming HR, Payroll and Pension administration can be. Our aim is to remove the burden and stress for our clients and allow them to concentrate on what they are good at – running their business.”
The regional category winners were selected by a panel of representatives from the small business sector from across the UK.
