FSB have been working closely with North Somerset Council to provide three early evening seminars for independent retailers in Weston –super-Mare. Taking place at Weston Museum these seminars will run from 6-8pm with refreshments provided from 5.45pm. The three sessions cover topics close to the heart of local retailers and resulted from the regular discussions between business stakeholders in the town and the Council on plans to develop Weston.
Dates for the sessions are as follows:
17 September – visual merchandising and window dressing
15 October – minimising retail theft
19 November – 20 marketing ideas for retailers
These events will be an opportunity to develop new skills and to network with other businesses in the town. No need to book, just turn up on the night. More details about the sessions can be found here.
North Somerset Council will be announcing details of their new grant fund at these events. This new scheme offers grants to cover up to 75% of the cost of work to update fascia and signage for retailers in designated streets in the town. This map outlines in green the streets that the grant applies to.
This scheme is in partnership with English Heritage and also offers a free design service to get your plans off the ground. To find out more please contact Cara MacMahon at North Somerset Council.
