I would like to wish you a very happy new year. Hopefully 2018 will be full of health and wellbeing for us all.
I have served FSB for the past several years as Chair of the North London Branch and Vice-Chair of the region and am delighted to have been selected as the Chair of the London Region for the coming year.
My first task is to thank Steve Warwick and other members of the outgoing London committee. Steve has been dedicated and committed to the FSB and he has ensured FSB is one of the main go-to organisations for business matters in the capital. Special thanks also go to Colin Francis as the outgoing Treasurer.
2018 heralds the start of an exciting time in the FSB. With a national restructure, new regions and a non-branch based system; we have an opportunity to develop our work further into London’s business world.
The BAG (Borough Action Group) programme is being accelerated - we plan to have active working groups in every borough across London by 2020 and in ten boroughs by the end of this year.
Under the new structure there are also opportunities to develop SIGs (special interest groups). These could be based on policy issues or industry specific themes. Perhaps there is a business issue you would like to address, if so please get in contact with Matthew Jaffa to explore possibilities.
I would like 2018 to be the year where more members get involved in developing and delivering projects under the FSB banner in London than ever before. We need our members to come step forward, whether as a BAG or SIG activist, we await your contact.
I look forward to serving the London community of small businesses and will endeavour to make 2018 a truly remarkable year.
