Forty Women in Business were joined for lunch by Jonathan Lord MP for Woking, the Mayor of Woking and the local press at the beautiful Hoebridge Golf Club on Brexit Day.
The buzz in private dining was extraordinary as we started with tea, coffee and networking. An early start to allow enough time to enjoy lunch, presentations and not be late to make the school run.
Jonathan Lord MP addressed our members on the final countdown to us leaving the EU and took questions including red tape for small businesses pledging to take their concerns back to Government. Our Women in Business presenters were magnificent!
Starting with Julianne Ponan MD of Creative Nature health snack bars and winner of too many Awards to mention including overall FSB Awards Winner 2019 who mapped out her business journey which attracted laughter and even some sighs of amazement.
Following Julianne was Laura Bounds MD of Kent Crisps who also had an amazing business journey to relate as well as being a FSB Award winner. Both of these Women in Business are a testament to determination, grit and success.
Our MP visibly couldn’t believe his ears! In closing the Mayor of Woking was also physically moved by the journeys of these two young women entrepreneurs who couldn’t praise the FSB enough for their continual help. More tea, coffee and networking for those who no longer are compelled to the school run and this event didn’t end until tea time! A huge thanks to local area lead, Shelagh Gurrie and her brilliant assistant FSB volunteer Teresa Ward.
